Hate much?

Please don’t hold back, really let us know how you feel. I cannot believe people still harbor such attitudes these days. There is not much to say here, just that any rational and intelligent person should be able see it for what it is, hate and ignorance

Wow, this is pretty offensive, especially considering that I am agnostic and a criminologist. #1. Crime is not rampant because of atheism--there's not enough atheists in the country to warrant this statement. This is such an ignorant statement that it would make my fellow PhD colleagues cry with laughter. In addition, does this person know how much religion goes on in prisons and jails? Finally, think of how much hate and crime is committed in the name of religion. Yeah, I think I'd rather be without religion if this is the case. #2. It's one's own personal choice not follow an organized religion or believe in God. You can reject organized religion and still be spiritual. This doesn't mean we should banish or exile people who aren't a follower of an organized religion.

Finally, it cracks me up when people who call themselves religious make such hateful, narrow minded statements. Doesn't religion preach that you should be open minded and love everyone? That, yes, people may have flaws, but we are all good inside?? Being a person who is constantly battling her religious family with the principles of science, I could go on and on about this topic for days. Good post, I'm glad I checked it out.
